There are a few questions you should ask yourself at the start of a Perfectly Pieced project.
First, which size block do you want to use? Perfectly Pieced provides 2”, 4”, 6”, and 8” blocks. However, it’s important to bear in mind your machine’s embroidery field size and let that inform the block size you select. (Embroidery field sizes are listed in your block instructions!)
Next, which project do you want to make? There are instructions for four different projects included with your files. Doorstep subscribers will receive enough fabric to complete one of the projects and have some leftover. Or maybe you have a great idea for your own creation! That’s the beauty of this program. You’ll have lifetime access to your design files, and can use them however you choose.
Note: One convenient feature of Perfectly Pieced is the included cut and stitch lines. The cut line shows you exactly where to cut each block to the correct size. The stitch line shows you exactly where to stitch the blocks together so the blocks have an exact ¼ inch seam.
Finally, which style of quilting do you want to use? The Single Block with Quilting Instructions includes embroidery files with custom quilting. This is known as the Block-by-Block method. Because each block is already quilted, once they are sewn together in your project you only need to add a back. I love how simple this makes any Perfectly Pieced project.
Another option is to use the included allover quilting design. The Single Block Instructions do not include quilting. These embroidery files stitch only the block. After sewing all blocks together, you can then do an all over quilting.
One of the many things I love about this program is mixing a collection of blocks together. The projects that are created are so stunning.
